[K-1 REVENGE 2026] The Ultimate Grudge Rematch! Remi Parra vs. Tomoya Yokoyama Set for K-1 REVENGE on May 31

March 23, 2026
An ultimate grudge rematch has been officially confirmed for “K-1 REVENGE,” scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
In the [K-1 WORLD GP Super Featherweight Championship Bout / 3x3min, Ext. 1R], reigning champion Remi Parra (France/CARCHARIAS) will defend his title against Tomoya Yokoyama (Japan/Libre Roi) in a highly anticipated rematch.
Yokoyama made a strong run in the K-1 WORLD GP Super Featherweight Championship Tournament held on May 31, 2025, at Yokohama BUNTAI. He defeated Egor Bikrev in the quarterfinals and followed up with back-to-back KO victories over Matthew Dahlman in the semifinals, coming within one step of claiming the title.
Waiting for him in the final was tournament favorite Remi Parra, who had previously defeated Leona Pettas in September 2023.
Although Parra had suffered a loss to Hirotaka Asahisa in March 2024, he entered the tournament as a top contender. He lived up to expectations by knocking out Yuta Matsuyama with a left hook in the quarterfinals, and stopping Chihiro Nakajima via a flurry of punches in the semifinals—securing two consecutive KO victories in dominant fashion.
Both fighters advanced to the final with consecutive knockouts. However, Yokoyama had taken significant damage in a grueling quarterfinal battle with Bikrev, where both fighters scored knockdowns. Though he managed to push through the semifinals with sheer determination, he entered the final already battered.
That difference proved decisive. From the opening round, Parra targeted Yokoyama’s injured left leg with low kicks, scoring a knockdown with a left hook to the head. In the second round, Parra dropped Yokoyama again with a body shot. The bout concluded with another left hook that sent Yokoyama to the canvas, crowning Parra as the 6th K-1 WORLD GP Super Featherweight Champion.
After the heartbreaking loss, Yokoyama made his comeback in November 2025 by defeating Leona Pettas via decision after scoring a knockdown, boldly calling for a rematch with Parra—leading to this long-awaited showdown.
As K-1 becomes increasingly dominated by international fighters, the question remains: can Yokoyama overcome the seemingly unbeatable Parra? Or will Parra once again prove his supremacy as champion?
The ultimate revenge match for the title is set—but how will it end?
Below are comments from both fighters ahead of the championship bout:
Remi Parra
“Hello everyone, it’s been a while. It has been exactly one year since I won the tournament, and I’m very happy to return for my first title defense at K-1 REVENGE on May 31. As the event name suggests, Yokoyama will be coming for revenge—but unfortunately for him, that won’t happen. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in Japan this May. I will prove who the strongest is, so don’t miss that moment.”
Tomoya Yokoyama
“One year later, I’ve made it back to this stage! I still haven’t forgotten the frustration of that day.
I’m the only one who can defeat Remy Parra. I will get my REVENGE and become champion!
Let’s sell out Korakuen Hall and share the best moment with my team. On May 31, don’t go chasing storms—come to K-1!”
