The opponent for K-1 -90kg World Champion Lukas Achterberg at “K-1 GENKI 2026”, scheduled for Saturday, April 11 at Yoyogi National Stadium Second Gymnasium in Tokyo, has been confirmed. Achterberg (Germany / Team CSK / Sparta Aachen) will face WAKO-PRO World Light Cruiserweight Champion Fabian Lorito (Switzerland / Team Stefanovski).

Achterberg captured global attention earlier this year at the “K-1 WORLD GP 2026 -90kg WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT”, where he scored three knockout victories over Mahmoud Sattari, Bogdan Stoica, and Nikita Kozlov to win the tournament title. Standing at 200 cm, the German powerhouse has quickly established himself as a dominant force in K-1’s cruiserweight division.

His opponent Lorito is a 25-year-old rising star from Switzerland, the home country of K-1 legend Andy Hug. Lorito currently holds the WAKO-PRO World Light Cruiserweight (-85.1kg) Championship, as well as the WAKO-PRO European Light Cruiserweight title and the WKU European Light Heavyweight (-83kg) title.

In December last year, Lorito scored a spectacular knockout victory at the combat sports event “SENSHI 29” in Bulgaria, finishing his opponent with a flying double front kick that landed flush on the chin.

Lorito has also trained at TKBC Luzern, the gym founded in Switzerland by Andy Hug in 1997, and continues to pursue kickboxing with the goal of following in the footsteps of his national hero. Fighting out of a switch stance, Lorito is known for his rapid punching combinations with both hands, earning him the nickname “Iron Fist.”

With an impressive professional record of 23 wins (13 KOs) and 2 losses, Lorito has the power and skill to challenge the reigning champion. Should he defeat Achterberg, it could instantly propel his name onto the global stage.

All eyes will be on whether Lorito can follow the path of Swiss legend Andy Hug and achieve breakthrough success in Japan.
