It has been decided that K-1 WORLD MAX 2025 -70kg World Championship Tournament Opening Round, organized by Japan’s leading stand-up martial arts promotion ‘K-1’ and taking place on Sunday, September 7, 2025 (Japan time), will be broadcast live in its entirety on ABEMA Live.

The highlight of this event will be the Opening Round of the ‘-70kg World Championship Tournament,’ featuring eight matches with 16 elite fighters from 15 countries around the world.

The most anticipated bout of the event will be the showdown between current K-1 WORLD GP Super Welterweight Champion Ouyan Feng and Kacper Muszyński.

In addition to the tournament, matches under the ‘HERO’S’ rules will make a comeback for the first time in nearly 20 years. The MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) matches that once captivated the world will return to the K-1 ring. With two such matches scheduled for this event, anticipation is high to see the impact they will make on the night.

Furthermore, two title matches are scheduled for this event. In the K-1 Super Bantamweight division, reigning champion Akihiro Kaneko will defend his title against Koji Ikeda. In the K-1 Women’s Atomweight Title Match, champion Kira Matsutani will face challenger Aki Suematsu.
