K-1 Social Media Video Editing Guideline

1. Purpose
This guideline aims to:
- Protect K-1’s official social media performance immediately after each bout
- Encourage organic fan participation that supports long-term reach
- Avoid excessive restrictions that discourage community engagement
2. Upload Waiting Period
Posting edited fight clips is permitted only after 1 hour after the end of the fight.
- Fight end time = official result announcement
The first hour is reserved exclusively for:
- Official highlights released by K-1 and its broadcast partners
3. Not Allowed (Before 1 Hour)
The following content is NOT permitted within the first hour after a fight:
- Full fight clips
- Posting fight video while the same bout is still actively ongoing
- GIFs or short-form edits derived from the above content
This applies regardless of clip length or format.
4. Clip Length & Content Rules
A. After 1 Hour and up to 1 Week After the Event
Allowed
After the 1-hour waiting period, the following content is permitted:
- Short edited clips of less than 30 seconds per fight, including:
- Highlights
- Fighter appreciation
- Technical breakdowns
- Creative edits with music or effects
- Commentary
- Analysis
- Reaction (React) content
Recommended length:
15–30 seconds per clip
Not Allowed (Still Restricted)
- Full rounds
- Full fights
B. After 1 Week Following the Event
- The 30-second clip length restriction is removed
- However, all other restrictions in this guideline continue to apply
The following are not allowed at any time:
- Full rounds
- Full fights
5. Credit & Tagging (Mandatory)
All edited clips must:
- Tag an official K-1 account on the platform where the clip is posted
- If no official K-1 account exists on that platform, include copyright credit: © K-1
Examples:
- Instagram: @k1worldwide
- X: @K1_ReBoot
(or the relevant official K-1 handle)
Caption example:
- “Footage © K-1”
6. Preferred Behavior (Encouraged)
We encourage fans and media to:
- Wait until K-1’s official highlight is posted
- Quote or repost official clips before posting edits
7. Enforcement Policy
Content posted in violation of this guideline may be:
- Requested for removal
Repeated violations may result in:
- Cease-and-desist notices issued to accounts
- Loss of future media cooperation opportunities
This policy applies equally to:
- Fans
- Media pages
