November 10, 2025
We interviewed Hercules ahead of his K-1 debut against Stoyan Koprivlenski at K-1 WORLD MAX on November 15.
—You’ve been selected to compete in the K-1 -70kg World’s Strongest Tournament. How did you feel when you received the offer?
“I was very excited. I’m looking forward to challenging myself under new rules, and I’m happy to have the chance to take on a new challenge.”
—K-1 has a rich history with Thai fighters like Buakaw making a huge impact. What’s your impression of K-1?
“I think K-1 is a grand, intense, and high-level stage. It’s truly a super stage where top fighters from around the world gather.”
—K-1 rules prohibit clinching. Since your strengths are knees and middle kicks, how do you plan to approach the fight?
“I’ll adjust my style so I can adapt to any situation. Lately, I haven’t been using knee strikes as much anyway. I’ve already evolved my style into something different, so I don’t think it will be a problem.”
—Since it’s a one-day tournament, you’ll need to fight three times in one day. How confident are you about that?
“I’ve fought in many tournaments before, but this will be my first time fighting three times in one day. I think it’ll be a fresh and exciting challenge. No matter what happens, I have 100% confidence in my abilities.”
—Your first opponent is Stoyan Koprivlenski, last year’s tournament champion. What’s your impression of him?
“He’s very strong, an excellent fighter, and the current champion. I’m honored and happy to have the opportunity to face him.”
—What kind of fight do you think it will be?
“I’m sure it will be an exciting and enjoyable fight. I’m looking forward to that day.”
—You’re the only Thai fighter in the tournament. How do you feel about representing your country?
“I feel very proud and happy to represent Thailand. I’ll give everything I have in the ring.”
—What do you think it will take to win the tournament?
“To progress under these rules, take the next step, and achieve a new goal. I’m fighting with a strong sense of determination—to elevate the name of Thailand even further.”
—If you win the tournament, do you have plans or goals regarding continued participation in K-1?
“Of course, I would like to continue fighting in K-1. But everything will be decided based on the goals and plans of my team.”
—Muay Thai fighters are known for taking on any set of rules. Why do you think Thai fighters are so strong, including yourself?
“Muay Thai fighters are exceptional athletes—physically and mentally tough. And above all, we’re never afraid of new challenges. We have the courage to face any rules head-on.”
—Do you have any routines or rituals before or after a fight?
“Before every fight, I always think of my master, my parents, and all the people who support me. Those thoughts help calm me and allow me to give my best performance.”
—You fought Nadaka Yoshinari when you were 15, and more recently, you defeated former K-1 Super Lightweight Champion Yodkhunpon.
“Yes, I beat Yodkhunpon in an RWS event. That match was under Muay Thai rules.”
—That’s quite impressive. Lastly, could you share your mindset going into the tournament and a message for the fans?
“To all my Thai supporters, and all combat sports fans around the world—thank you for your support. I will give everything I’ve got and continue tough training to reach my goal. I promise to show you my best performance!”
